Final president's letter from the desk of Brian Davis,

Anyone else running into this phenomenon where your calendar is running out of pages? Soon I will need to hang a new calendar on my wall, but I still have much to accomplish in the year.

I want to take this letter and thank all of our members for a great year. In the past months, CIC-ASTD has hosted several programs benefiting you our members, and it is your participation that led to our success in 2009. I also want to thank the 2009 Board members for their service. The hours of hard work and constant reflection on the Chapter has placed us in a strong position going into 2010 and the work of Kirk Adler, Mariah Beale, Laura Bollen, Sandra Brown, Kerry Brown, Karen Deering, Megan Devlin-Petty, Linda Harris, Diana Hauman, and Steve Whittington has been invaluable. I want to make a special thank you to Andrea Raycraft, the Chapter’s Administrative Assistant. It is because of her work the Board and ultimately the Chapter function so well.

With giving my thanks to the 2009 Board, it is with great pleasure I extend a welcome to the 2010 Board, recently approved by the membership. The Board slate as proposed found approval by a unanimous vote from the membership.

I wanted also to note a few opportunities for growth and development before the end of the year. Our final Chapter program scheduled for December 3 is Training on Trial: The Urgent Need to Become a Strategic Learning Partner presented by Jim Kirkpatrick. Check out the chapter website, www.cic.astd.org for information. This also will include a lunch as well as the formal change of leadership of the CIC-ASTD Board.

The St. Louis Metro Chapter has extended a special invitation to attend their two-day Regional Conference and Expo December 9 and 10. More information is coming to the website soon regarding this and other non-Chapter programs available to our members.

I want again to say "thank you" to everyone in the membership for making this a great year.
