Karen Long

Karen is the Quality Assurance Manager at Network Solutions. She and her team of coaches are responsible for monitoring and improving the performance of all front-line customer service specialists. Previously, she was part of the training team that received the Network Solutions Vice President's Cup for their dedication to aligning training programs with the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Currently, Karen is pursuing a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University , which she expects to complete in 2008. Also, she has completed the requirements of the ASTD CPLP Certification. Karen is a member of ASTD National and the ASTD-Eastern PA Chapter.

Pedro Anes

Pedro Luis Anes has served on the Eastern PA Chapter Board of Directors since 2000 as the Finance Officer. He is the President of InPact Learning; which provides communications and performance improvement solutions for linguistically diverse organizations and communities. Mr. Anes also serves as an Instructor of Economics and Workforce Development with Penn State University. Formerly he was the Director of Workforce Education at Marywood University, the Northampton County Program Manager for adult literacy and basic workforce development at Northampton Community College, Corporate Trainer/Consultant for the Center for Business and Industry, and Adjunct Professor of Operations Management at Allentown College (Now DeSales University). Mr. Anes is a US Army Veteran Retiring in 1998 after 22 years of service to his country. He holds a BS in Management from Park University, A MS in General Administration from Central Michigan University , and has completed all but dissertation for the PhD in Human Development at Marywood University.

Carol Beisel

Carol Beisel is the Service Delivery Trainer for First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union. She has been training her team members in the areas of sales, service, and leadership for over 5 years. Carol has been a member of the Eastern PA Chapter since 2004, having served as the Director of the Best Practices for Internals SIG for one year, and currently serves as Co-VP of Program & Events. She is currently attending Muhlenberg College and will graduate in the Spring of 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

Rick Kerner has been a training and media specialist with Victaulic since 1995. Rick holds a Bachelor's Degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting, and a minor in Behavioral Psychology. He is currently a member of ASTD National and the ASTD-Eastern PA Chapter.

Kim Weissbein

Kim has her BS degree in Education and she completed graduate coursework in communications. Kim has been a learning and development professional for 20 years, with most of her experience in the customer service and telecommunications sectors. She was a trainer and instructional designer at T-Mobile and was also an instructor of ESL and GED courses at a community college. Her career began as a public school teacher in Connecticut.

Andy Cook

Andy is the Program Coordinator for Service Culture for Lehigh Valley Health Network's Physician Group, a division of Lehigh Valley Health Network. In that role, he supports and delivers O.D. initiatives for over 75 physician practices located in the greater Lehigh Valley. He holds two bachelor's degrees (Marketing and Journalism) from Penn State, and is also nearing completion of his Master's in Training and O.D. at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Andy has been a Chapter member since 1998, when be began designing marketing materials for our programs. He is a member of the National and local ASTD chapters, and also is responsible for the chapter newsletter. He has been on the board since 2005.

Gregg Marzano is an entrepreneur who started his own company, Rainmakers – Lehigh Valley. It is a business development firm committed to providing affordable sales solutions for small businesses with a commitment to the travel and tourism industry in Eastern PA. In his work, he has lead sales teams throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, representing leading hotel properties including Hilton, Starwood, Marriott, Radisson and Holiday Inn. The strategic plans that Marzano implemented for local business owners over the past 20 years can now be utilized in many segments of the travel and tourism industry. Marzano applies e-commerce, business-to-business sales calls, affiliated partnerships, and networking sales relationships to each of his customers and business partners.

Joyce Thompson

Joyce is a full-time faculty member at Lehigh Carbon Community College where she teaches courses in computer science, computer networking, maintenance, and Cisco. Her dedication is to her students. She has been teaching computer application and networking since 1990. Her undergraduate degrees are in business administration and her master’s degree is in education. Joyce has been a member of ASTD since 2000. Prior to this position on the board she served as VP of Information Technology.

Jim is the founder of The Business Coach. He has led, managed, coached, trained and facilitated many organizations, teams, and individuals in achieving strategic objectives, exceeding goals, getting results, realizing desired outcomes or completing projects. He has assisted in the achieving successful results in strategic planning, management system implementation, business development, organization design, customer care and continuous process improvement. He has prepared and presented many national and international workshops on a variety of management and leadership topics. Jim has a master's degree in logistics and a bachelor of science degree in business administration. James H. Saylor is the author of the TQM Field Manual, TQM Simplified and Customer-Driven Project Management (first and second edition) published by McGraw-Hill.
