Summary: Find out how CCFL provided their client, a large project management firm, with systematic Performance feedback to senior management from the training programs they were contracted to design and deliver.

The feedback process resulted in overall organizational performance improvement for this company, increased their leadership’s involvement and inspired the creation of additional training courses to address improvements identified in the feedback.

CCFL has successfully used this systematic feedback model with multiple clients you will want to see how it can work for your company/clients.

Garry will discuss the template he uses and lead a discussion on how it could be adapted to different business learning and performance challenges.

E-mail, if not managed properly, can become a significant drain on productivity. As users become distracted by messages piling up, they are more likely to lose track of important messages and fall further behind in their work.
Presented By:  Ann Michael Henry

Summary: E-mail, if not managed properly, can become a significant drain on productivity. As users become distracted by messages piling up, they are more likely to lose track of important messages and fall further behind in their work.

An inbox full of dozens or hundreds of messages renders the user increasingly ineffective in other areas of work, spending more time simply "putting out fires" caused by the bulging inbox. The more e-mail piles up, the less useful it is to users and their companies.

At this session, you will learn how to properly manage e-mail so that you can enjoy the benefits of this great tool.  You will have the ability to control your “e-mail ecosystem” instead of allowing it to control you!

Southern Tier Chapter ASTD Workshop

We are each born with different, innate preferences that affect our personalities. Those preferences determine how we make decisions, gather information, live our lives, and where we get our energy. Those differences translate into the methods we use to teach and train and how people learn. So, how do you create a learning environment that taps into both of these differences, as well as others? In this interactive workshop, you will discover how the language of typology contributes to our individual differences. You will achieve this understanding through experiential activities, analysis, discussion, and application. Under guidance from the facilitator, you will also begin to explore and develop strategies and techniques to enrich the learning experiences in your own workshops and classrooms.

Presenter Elizabeth Rodenz, Ph.D. is an educator, management consultant, workshop facilitator, and executive and life coach and the author of the ground-breaking book on typology, Odd Ducks and Birds of a Feather: A Mystery of Type (personality that is). Since 1981 she has been presenting to a variety of audiences on typology. As a management consultant and executive coach for over 15 years, she has integrated experiential exercises and typology into thousands of workshops and coaching sessions that focus on management, conflict resolution, communication, and other fields.

What is global learning and why is everyone talking about it? Because technological advances are making it possible to reach more people with learning programs, but not all people we are reaching have the same learning preferences and needs. Come and hear how Xerox is doing against challenges they are facing as they implement global learning strategies and programs. Jane will present a Xerox case study that includes global implications for face-to-face, e-learning and blended learning solutions across Xerox Corporation’s Developing Markets Operations.

Discuss the pros and cons of different LMS solutions and demonstrations of open-source training tools that are used to create e-learning packages.
In the past five years, training has taken on a new dimension.  e-Learning is rapidly replacing classroom training as the primary business training solution.

As training professionals, we are constantly challenged to stay current with technology and current trends in learning.  How do we stay ahead of the curve without breaking the bank and without sacrificing quality?  The solution is open-source software.

Whether you are using a Learning Management System, considering acquiring one, or currently creating e-Learning content, this session with David Pesce is a must! David has over 10 years’ experience with open-source technologies and over 5 years’ experience designing, developing, and testing open-source solutions in e-learning.  He will share the pros and cons of different LMS solutions and demonstrate open-source training tools that are used to create e-learning packages.  Please join us for this informative session.

Have you been asked by your company to perform or oversee a learning needs analysis that is being done by someone else? Unless you have recent experience with learning training needs analyses, you may not feel as confident as you would like to feel about discussing this subject with other Workplace Learning Professionals. Global Learning Case Studies & Panel
Based on your feedback at the recent Xerox global learning program, we will continue our focus on the globalizing of learning.

The purpose of the November workshop is to showcase lessons learned from a few global companies that are headquartered locally, so that others can apply these learnings in their own workplaces.

We will begin with a brief review of the Xerox global learning case study that was presented by Jane Fairchild in June. This will be followed by case study from Kodak presented by Catherine Nowaski, and one from Bausch & Lomb presented by Patrick McCarroll.

The last part of the workshop will be a panel discussion that will provide an opportunity to ask questions and further explore globalization topics of interest to the group.

We are very excited to bring this timely and complex topic to workplace performance and learning professionals in the Genesse Valley Region.
