November Chapter Meeting - The Five Dysfunction of a Team - Book Review in Action |
If you don’t recall the author’s name you may recall one of his
best sellers, the most current of which is: The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. Patrick Lencioni's eight best-selling business books have sold
2.5 million copies around the world with translations in 20 different languages. The books appear on national best seller lists year after year and tackle topics surrounding organizational health, leadership and teams.
The Five Dysfunctions of a Team is the flagship book for Lencioni
having sold more than one million copies. The author’s groundbreaking theory on teams focuses on collective team behaviors that lead to success.
The objectives of our November 13th session are to:
1) Acquaint you with the five dysfunctions.
2) Identify some of the actions the author recommends for addressing these dysfunctions.
3) Discuss and share with one another some of the actions our participants have used to address these dysfunctions and with what level of success.
The facilitation of this session will be done by two past presidents of ASTD, Barbara Bannon of HRI and Dr. Sandra Goodwin. We look forward to an interesting learning experience.

Chapter Mentor Program: Postponed to January |
So why would anyone add another meeting to their schedule to be a part of the ASTD Chapter Mentor Program? It is all about sharing and learning. January Kick-off and Dates TBA
“It was rewarding to share what I had learned with someone who is starting out to give them some ideas, even though their path may be different. I had expertise my partner wanted to learn.”
Vicki Anderson, Mentor 2008
“I was one of the first participants in the NEOK ASTD’s mentor program. I thought I joined it to help me achieve a career change but it literally changed my life. No, I didn’t actually change careers or even positions but I did go through a paradigm shift and became happier with my overall life.
My mentor helped me with this process and I’m grateful.
Did he do it for me? No.
Do I recommend this program? You better believe it!”
Sue Madden, Protégé 2008
“Participating as a mentor was an extremely rewarding experience. I found that I was being asked questions that I had not thought about because I didn’t need the specific topic before. As new questions came up we researched and learned together through the process.,”
Larry Straining, Mentor 2008
