ASTD-SCWC 2007 Goals:

  • Become better known in the marketplace as the place to go for Workplace Learning & Performance development.
  • To create a succession plan for all Board positions.
  • Set a quality program schedule on a rolling 12-month calendar.

Thank you all for a year filled with learning opportunities and growth. As we look back to 2007, let’s remember the experiences that have brought us to where we are today.

Our 2007 Chapter Goals were a great target to strive for. We have put in place marketing efforts to achieve a consistent look to our email blasts, as well as correct language to describe the profession of Workplace Learning and Performance in all of our materials.

The elections held on October of 2007 granted us with new board members to assist with new initiatives upcoming in 2008, including expanding our succession plan for all Board positions. We are looking forward to expanding our volunteer opportunities as well.

The program schedule will see some changes from the format we used in 2007, including streamlining our programs to offer one chapter program per month in 2008. This allows for the chapter to focus on higher quality programming, inviting a variety of speakers to present learning programs, and achieve increased attendance.

Our 2007 financial year ended on a lower note than expected, with a slight loss in net income compared to the previous year. As expenses increase, the Board of Directors must look to creative options for increasing income. Our new VP-Finance is working on a 2008-2009 budget and other bill payment options in order to reduce excess expenses. Due to the change in our program schedule to offer one program per month, the fees for those programs will also change. Advanced registration for members will be $25 and guests/non-members will be $35. Same day registration will be $30 for members and $40 for guests/non-members.

Thank you for participating in our programs and learning opportunities in 2007. I look forward to a wonderful 2008 year!
