Welcome to ASTD Utah.  This year, ASTD Utah is celebrating 40 years of serving the WLP community.  I am so proud of the accomplishments that ASTD Utah has achieved over the years and honored to be able to support the organization carry on a great tradition during the 2009 year.

At the end of 2008 our incoming Board conducted a membership satisfaction survey.  It was important to us to understand what we as a chapter are doing right and how we can be doing more to add value to our members not only in 2009 but in the future as well.  Well, what did we find out?  Overall, the survey came back very positive but the survey also highlighted a few areas where the chapter can continue to grow and improve.

Based on that, our board met for our strategic retreat, reviewed and enhanced the mission of the chapter to better meet the needs of today’s membership and set some important goals.  What our board hopes to add to you and the chapter this year is:

·         Programs which add value to the entire WLP community.  We recognize the WLP industry has a broad range of specialties and in 2009 we strive to bring you quality programs that will meet the needs of each of our members.

·         A sense of community and collaboration within the chapter.  WLP professionals understand the importance of relationships and working together.  This year our goal is to support chapter members in building their ability to foster their connections with each other.  We hope you take the opportunities to engage in the chapter through events, networking opportunities and volunteering on committees.

·         A place of support for each other in these times that we face.
