It is such a privilege to extend a warm welcome to all members and visitors to our West Texas Chapter of ASTD.  Your professional expertise and synergy continually enrich every event you attend as well as your ongoing networking activities.

Our leadership team encourages your suggestions and participation which enables us to provide worthwhile programs that challenge you professionally and personally. 

While attending the March 2008 ASTD Regional Conference in Corpus Christi, Bobbi Sims presented keys to move “From Ordinary to Extraordinary.”  The size of our dream determines the size of our success.  A dream will promote priorities, direction, purpose, focus, organization, happiness, fulfillment and satisfaction.  Dreams require cultivation and dedication.

Our commitment is the journey of courage and belief in ourselves.  We need to overcome negative voices and obstacles in order to be successful.  “It is not who you are that holds you back.  It is who you think you’re not.”   It is moving from “I am not enough” to “ I am enough, I am confident, competent and capable.”

Eleanor Roosevelt once said “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”  While reflecting on this quote, I am inspired by the extraordinary people in our organization and by the hard working people in West Texas.
