Jenna Schotte

President

 

 

 

 

Jenna has been in the field of Workplace Learning and Organizational Development since 1993. In that time she has served as an internal and external consultant to small- and mid-size organizations and has demonstrated a solid track record of success in human capital and HR transformation by designing innovative performance solutions that increase revenue, customer satisfaction and employee motivation.

Jenna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Madonna University and is currently pursuing an international coaching accreditation with the International Coaching Federation.

As President of the Ann Arbor ASTD Chapter, the primary role is to provide vision and direction to the Board of Directors and the membership. The main responsibilities include developing key strategies for the chapter and leading the Board in establishing goals, action plans and measures to accomplish them.

Dawn Elgas-Blasch

Past President

 

 

Since 2004, Dawn has worked at Affinia Group Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor as a Human Resources Manager. Prior to Affinia, Dawn spent 15 years with Clevite Engine Parts. The majority of her career was with the human resources department. Early in her career at Clevite, she worked in the training, sales and marketing departments. Dawn is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Masters of Science degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development.

Dawn’s initial assignment with ASTD began as Member-At-Large. As Past President if the Ann Arbor ASTD Chpater, the primary role to provide mentorship to the President and support the Chapter in it's continuing efforts.

Janet O'Connor

VP, Communications

 

 

Janet currently serves as HR Generalist for V I Engineering. Her primary responsibilities include: training, organizational development, recruiting, and employee relations. She has become more involved in the field of Training & Development in the past few years and joined ASTD-Ann Arbor to meet other like-minded individuals who share a passion for workplace learning and performance. As VP of Communications for the Ann Arbor chapter, Janet is instrumental in providing our members with the most current Chapter news and information and publishes the Chapter’s newsletter, Learning Links.

As VP Communication of the Ann Arbor ASTD Chapter, the primary role is to serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the membership by providing quarterly newsletters and monthly communication.

Kelly Beattie

VP, Programs

 

Kelly has been involved the field of Training and Development for the past 12 years. Her experience includes establishing New Horizons University as well as developing and facilitating business skills classes such as Time Management, Communication, and Customer Service for New Horizons Computer Learning Centers. As a Technical Trainer for Thomson Reuters, Kelly leads the Train-the-Trainer and Mentoring programs and is also responsible for training Thomson’s clients on proprietary software programs.

As VP Programming of the Ann Arbor ASTD Chapter, the primary role is to coordinating resources to provide the local chapter with an engaging monthly program.

Pam Wyess

VP, Membership

 

 

Pam Wyess is the President/CEO of Workplace Results LLC, a management consulting firm founded in 1996 specializing in pre-employment testing, staff development, and retention strategies.  A former police lieutenant, she has a unique approach to service, supervision, and leadership and has developed courses and other solutions focused on practical, relevant, and real-life application. 

Pam uses a variety of training tools and assessments with her clients and is also an authorized reseller for companies who have internal trainers needing support material. She’s been active in several local associations and has held leadership roles through board service since 1999.  

She’s a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. Communications) and Madonna University (M.S. Administration - Business).  Pam joined ASTD to meet others in the learning and development field and to share information, best practices, and resources. 

As VP Membership of of the Ann Arbor ASTD Chapter, Pam's primary role is to provide member services to local and national chapter members.

Nicole Johnson

VP, Finance

 

 

 

Nicole joined ASTD – Ann Arbor as a graduate student and was excited by the opportunity to serve on the Chapter Board. She joined the Chapter Board in 2007 as Member at Large to gain a broad understanding of the Ann Arbor Chapter. Nicole then assumed the position of VP Finance to utilize her existing knowledge of finance while developing an understanding of budgeting.

Nicole currently serves as an Trainer at Terumo Medical. In this role, she consults with leadership to identify training opportunities, develops training programs, and coordinates multiple training projects including New Employee Orientation, leadership development, succession planning, and Lunch-n-Learns.

As VP Finance of the Ann Arbor ASTD Chapter, the primary role is to ensure that the Ann Arbor Chapter operates in a fiscally responsible way that provides our members with a significant return on their investment in the programming and networking opportunities that our chapter provides.

Scott Mueller

Member-at-Large

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After graduating from Michigan State University, Scott joined Thomson Reuters in 1999 and has served in multiple roles. Scott spent many years travelign the country implementing a variety of accounting software packages in client's offices. In his current role as Training Implementation Lead, he is responsible for assisting the sales departmetn in selling the value of the comapny's training and consulting offerings, developingsoftware training implementation plans for clients and leading the e-learning initiative.

Scott holds a Bachelors in Accounting and, in 2006, earned his certification of COMPTIA CTT+ Certified Professional Trainer. Scott has been a regular attendee of the ASTD Ann Arbor Chapter and in 2009 took on the role of Member-at-Large. In his role as Member-at-Large, Scott is support the technology efforts of the chapter by co-managing the chapter's website.

Marla Stuck

Member-at-Large

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Marla E. Stuck currently serves as the Employment Manager for Washtenaw Community College.  Marla’s role at Washtenaw Community College has allowed her to lead a team in recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation for individuals and departments that provide services to over 13,000 students.  She has developed and implemented a streamlined more efficient employment application process all while instituting more creative advertising enabling the College to reach the desired candidate while saving advertising dollars.

Prior to her HR role with Washtenaw Community College, she was employed in a nearby municipality where in the role of Bookkeeper, her duties included balancing financial statements, processing accounts payable, accounts receivables, cash receipting, and property tax collection.  A short time later, she was promoted to Deputy Treasurer where she added bank reconciliation, audit journal entries, audit reporting, and fund management distribution.  In addition, she implemented a new cash receipt software program which facilitated financial operations significantly.   She was promoted to her final role there as Human Resource Manager/Transit Director. 

Marla has earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resources/Organizational Development, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, an Associate’s Degree in Applied Business, and an Associate’s Degree in Microcomputer Operations.  Marla has also earned the SPHR (Senior Professional Human Resources) Certification.
