The Mid-NJ ASTD chapter is a volunteer organization. Those who serve by providing direction for the chapter give of their time and talents to make it a success; your readiness to serve in a volunteer capacity is always welcome.

President:

Dr. Peter J. Rizza, Jr., (President & CEO, Princeton Center for Education Services, Inc.), has over 30 years of experience in technology-mediated instruction, with special focus on learning models and alternative delivery strategies. In 1985, Dr. Rizza formed the Princeton Center for Education Services, Inc. to provide consulting services to companies involved in multimedia design and development, organizations requiring training management and tracking, and professionals needing design and development tools. Over the past 20 years he has developed strategies, models and tools to facilitate knowledge transfer specializing in regulated industries, such as Pharmaceuticals, High-Tech Manufacturing and Government Agencies. He has presented professional papers on knowledge transfer strategies throughout the world. Dr. Rizza holds a B.S. and M.Ed. in Mathematics from Boston University and a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems from the Pennsylvania State University.

Past President:

Bob DeCarlo has thirty years of management experience. Prior to his current position as Sales & Marketing VP at the Princeton Center for Education Services, he held senior management positions at Unisys, AT&T and Bowne Business Solutions.
Bob led the AT&T Network Operations Education & Training organization in the design and development of all performance support initiatives including blended learning, on-the-job training, interactive multimedia performance support systems, knowledge management and quality management systems. His training development team received AT&T's President Award for their contribution to the firm's Malcolm Baldrige Award.
He is President of the Mid-NJ ASTD, a Gerson Lehrman Group Scholar, and Judge for the American Business Awards. Bob graduated from West Virginia University with honors and completed Advanced Management Programs at Wharton and Duke.

VP Finance:

Bob Zimel is Senior Manager of Talent Management at The Children's Place. His prior experience includes both internal learning leader at Benjamin Moore and external consultant at AchieveGlobal and The Forum Corp. Bob has been on the MidNJ chapter board since 2004, including serving two years as president. Bob currently is a member of the ASTD National Advisors for Chapters, coaching and advising ASTD Chapters regarding strategy, leadership and operations.

Linda Solk has over 30 years of business development, sales and consulting experience in human capital performance improvement. Most recently Linda managed NE USA/Canada Region for Kaplan IT, (a Washington Post Company), providing clients with complete learning solutions for enterprise application implementatins, upgrades and related training.
As Director of Performance Improvement at Maritz Inc., Linda was responsible for lifecycle performance and process improvement solutions, strategically aligned to client business goals and objectives. Positive results were attained by integrating needs/gap analyses research and customized training solutions focused on both employee and process improvement with incentive and customer loyalty programs.
Originally an educator, Linda transitioned into the business sector working for companies like KAO, Logistix, Moore, Bowne and GDA, focused primarily on Performance and Business Improvement Solutions. Clients include: GE, Prudential, Unilever, Standard & Poor's, XL Capital, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, J & J, NCR, AT&T, Liberty Mutual, Associated Press etc.
Linda holds a BA, Hons., in Education, from the University of Liverpool, UK.
She is currently the Vice President of Membership for the Mid-NJ ASTD chapter, a judge for Brandon Hall, Excellence in Learning Awards, a member of ADAPT, NAFE; the Elearning Guild, NAPW. She holds extensive professional certifications and serves in leadership roles with charitable, community and professional organizations

VP Programs:

Ronni Rubenstein joined the Mid-NJ ASTD Chapter five years ago and immediately volunteered to lead the nascent Technology Professional Development Network (PDN, formerly Special Interest Group or SIG). After a successful Technology Showcase, Ronni was asked to join the Chapter Board as Vice President, Programs, when the position became available.
Currently, she is Training Manager at DZS Software Solutions, a software development company that services the pharmaceutical industry providing clinical trials software, including products for data management, coding adverse events and concomitant medications, report analyses tools, and trial management software.
Prior to joining ASTD and the training industry in general, Ronni enjoyed a 15-year career as Membership Manager at several not-for-profit organizations including IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers), the American Physical Society, and the American Society of Magazine Photographers.

VP Communications:

Lorraine Davis has over 25 years of experience in the learning & development and human resource arena with regional / global expertise in training and development, change management, employee relations, talent management, learning management systems, strategic planning and leadership development.
Currently working for Ally Solutions Group, NA Lorraine is consulting on the largest Salesforce.com implementation with primary change management and deployment lead responsibilities for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific theatres. Previously, she was the VP of Corporate Training & Development at P&O Nedlloyd where she designed, developed, implemented and managed corporate wide employee development, education, and training programs, including creating curricula for all levels of organization, using adult learning theories and Kirkpatrick evaluation methodology. She established and chaired the North American Training Committee tasked with ensuring proper assessment of training requirements and allocation of training funds among many other responsibilities. She was a selected member of the Mergers/Acquisition team, working on many significant acquistions and subsequent reorganizations.
Lorraine has been a member of National ASTD since 2000 and changed her local chapter affiliation last summer to Mid-NJ - immediately jumping at the opportunity to volunteer as VP of Communications. She is also a member of New Jersey Organizational Development (NJOD), ISPI and SHRM. In December, Lorraine received her Senior Professional Human Resource Certification (SPHR), as well as a HRM Certification from FDU. She has a MBA in Marketing and in Human Resources.

Liz Myers is a dedicated ASTD volunteer, as well as founder and president of The Myers Method, Inc., a Princeton-based business communication consulting and learning company. Established in 1981, the company has worked with a wide variety of industries including pharmaceutical, telecommunication, newspaper, insurance, and hospitality. President of this chapter in 2004 and 2005, Liz has also served in many other chapter leadership board positions. An active member for many years, Liz knows the value and reward of service to our profession on the local level. She and her team represent our board and welcome your ideas and energy. They will help connect talented, generous volunteers with each other to continue our award-winning chapter success.
